Firstly, when Jo Moffat is talking to the boy she talks to him in a very maternal manner (gets down low, speaks quietly and softly and does not speak in an intimidating manner). This portrays women as gentle and kind, people that are not aggressive. Moreover, the stabbers portray men as being very vicious and looking for fights. they portray men as very bold, unkind and ‘hard’. but, Amir portrays men as very different and as being kind (buying groceries for his mother), gentle (not wanting to fight) which is very different to the stabbers.
